The Reason for the Season

I ask myself, "What is the reason for the season?"  It's confusing because my reason has changed over the years, my current reason is not the same as my reason last year, the year before that, or any other year.

So I meditated on "my reason."

Right now I find myself detached from my old reasons that went something like this: The Christmas season is about family, gift giving, decorating the Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, stockings, Christmas cards, singing seasonal songs and carols, candle lighting, eggnog, wine, cookies & candy...  All of that gives my mind a tooth ache!  As I enter the season this year I feel like a worn out puppet or like trying to put on a shoe that doesn't fit.

This brings to mind the R.E.M. song - "But that was just a dream, that was just a dream.  That's me in the corner, that's me in the spotlight losing my religion..."

My current reason resides in occupying Higher Truth - occupying my heart.  This holiday season will be different for me - I am more interested in being mindful of the footprints I leave on the earth - giving gifts that don't cost money, like a helping hand, a smile, or a word of encouragement.  I will be spending more time in quiet contemplation of the changes that are taking place on this planet and how I, in my little corner, can be of some earthly good.

The whispering winds of change are blowing through my mind and soul - I cannot play the game by the same old rules.  So for those of you that expect to see me playing my old game I won't be - you will find me sitting quietly with a smile of content - painting - playing on the floor with my granddaughter - loving my family and friends in a deeper more authentic way - listening with new ears and seeing with new eyes - sharing a message of love and hope each Sunday...

Butterfly Nature

Our "butterfly nature" longs to be recognized and if we are still enough, we feel it's flutterings.  Sometimes, an opening occurs and we take flight - a moment of illumination - our Divinity flies with our humanity - Oneness is remembered.

Myki Butterfly

The very young continue to fly with the butterflies until they are taught to walk as a human.

The Divine Forgiveness

Today I ponder the chapter, The Divine Forgiveness, from Living the Science of Mind.  These teachings I find profound and life enhancing.

The Law of Cause and Effect plays out when we don’t forgive others from the hurts and injustices we perceived they have placed upon us.  From our limited victim consciousness we energetically hold on to our negative judgment of what they did or didn’t do, and this is the “mistake.”  We mistakenly hold on to our hurt, meanwhile the Law of Cause and Effect being in continuous action, we attract mental pain and suffering.  This is why we forgive others; to relieve ourselves of ongoing feelings of hurt.  When we stop making the mistake of not forgiving we then feel better, or we feel forgiven.  Or, we can not forgive and continue to suffer the consequences or be punished by our misuse of the Law.

“When we stop making the mistake, we are automatically forgiven; but, of course, we will be punished by a mistake while we continue in it.” Ernest Holmes
Affirmations

I loving forgive myself for being out of alignment with the Law.
I stop making the mistake of feeling hurt by others.
I allow Love to radiate from my being.
Love transmutes, forgives, and releases the illusion of hurt, fear, blame, sorrow, and hatred.
I let it be and so it is.

Let God Do It

My feelings and thoughts after reading the chapter, Let God Do It, in Living the Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes

My current position on what God is, or rather the attributes of the Unknowable: Life - Love - Grace - Power - Harmony - Peace - Order - Abundance - Creative - Passion - Intelligence - Source - Supply - Omnipresent - Omniscient - Omnipotent...
God is All - God IS - so God is always “doing it,” but it doesn’t feel like it because I am judging life.
Letting God Do It means allowing myself to be easy with myself and others.
God is an Abundant Source for Good in the universe, that expresses through all life - as all life - in and around all life.  I let this Source for Good to express through me when I allow it to by clearing my mind of negativity, judgment, doubt, fear, confusion, and anxiety.
I let go of mentally struggling with what IS - I Choose to Let God Do It!  How about YOU?
Peace and blessings,

Consciousness Arising

Life these days seems to be extremely stressful due to the pressures of society, the media, and our economy; not to mention our personal relationships and our own lives.  We live in incredible times of upheaval and change and I believe we are being called to step up and embrace this change by raising our consciousness.  As Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”  As I pondered this statement and thought about the current state of affairs and the struggles so many are faced with on this planet, I asked myself, “What can I do?”  For me a question arises in my mind and I then meditate on it.
As I sat in my comfortable living room, with soft music playing, my dog Coco sitting next to me, a slight tension arose as a thought of how blessed I am and how there are so many individuals around the world suffering from thirst, hunger, loneliness, suppression... I pulled my attention back to the present moment, the “Now,” and I remembered Gandhi’s words, “Be the change you seek in the world.”  I realized with deeper conviction, that I could not change the world, before I changed myself.
The physical world is an outer expression of humanity’s inner turmoil of their minds.  Each of us wage war in the comfort of our home, in the confines of our mind with our unconscious thoughts, judgements, opinions, and negative self-talk.  My wise inner voice whispered, “Be present, be here now.”  Again the question, “What can I do?”  An answer came, “What are you willing to do?”  As I stilled the busy grasping little mind, I moved into the mind of my heart, I call this my Awakened Heart, and I listened.  It said:
Be kind and gentle with yourself and everyone you touch.
Be fully present and listen to those you are with.
Be generous with your love, your smiles, and your aliveness.
Be willing to grow out of your comfort zone.
Be willing to sit with the discomfort of others, knowing that you may have something that will ease their pain and suffering.
Remember you are here to positively effect the lives of others, it is in the giving that you receive your soul’s longings.
Remember, we are all one big human family.  We all feel pain and hurt, long to love and be loved , want to feel appreciated, meet our daily needs, take care of our families, feel safe in our homes, and have the freedom to express ourselves.
Cultivate a field of unconditional love that encompasses and includes the entire planet and everyone and everything on it, and beyond.
Honor each others differences, celebrate our uniqueness, and embrace our Oneness.
Once we know better, we do better!
As answers to my questions present themselves in my Awakened Heart, I found myself feeling better, more peaceful and hopeful.  If I am sitting in my living room feeling my consciousness expanding, then maybe sharing it with you will bring a smile to your face and heart too!
Love yourself!
Peace and blessings,

Dream IT! Live IT!

Dream Courageously - Live Courageously
What does it mean to dream and live courageously?  It means that you have given yourself permission to be YOU!  It means that you are the leading actor in the movie of your life; standing at center stage, centered in self; choosing to cast your movie with supporting actors that enhance your performance.
One lives courageously once they start taking full responsibility for their life - ALL OF IT!  And that means no more sleep walking ones way through life.  No more excuses; no blame; no guilt; no more shame.  I call this way of living, conscious living or living intentionally.  And this takes courage, big time courage.
Each of us are born to express our unique individualized Self; the unfortunate reality is that most of us were not taught this and have lived a diluted version of ourself.  I see many individuals start to wake up from the nightmare of unconsciously living life after some kind of crisis, a relationship break-up, the death of a loved one, some sort of loss, an accident, or a physical illness.  The pain seems to push us to change and  our Spirit then seems to pull us forward.
“It is only when you have the courage to face things exactly as they are without any self-deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of the events by which the path to success may be recognized.”  I Ching
Waking up and living courageously brings peace, joy, freedom, and love that is supported by the act of courageous dreaming.  Dreaming intentionally or being a conscious co-creator with Source/Divine Intelligence/Infinite Love is the natural way - the Tao.  We do this by making each decision guided by our Higher Self, listening to that still small voice within that knows what is best for us as part of the Whole.  We no longer make decisions based in fear, we only make decisions grounded in love.  We no longer say “yes,” when we mean “no.”
A courageous dreamer knows that they are supported every step of the way by the Infinite power, order, harmony, wisdom, and love of the Universe and that ALL is in Divine Right Timing - and there are never, ever any mistakes.  All is perfect in the imperfection.
Wake up! And dream on!
Peace and blessings,
Ali

Mystified

When in doubt, embrace the Mystery!
“Mystified?  Tao is mystery.
This is the gateway to understanding.”
Lao Tzu

Liberate

We are spiritual being having a human experience – yet the mind seems to have hijacked the soul.  Our bodies hold wisdom and guidance that will liberate the soul.
“Just live and enjoy life.”
Lieh Tzu

Be Ordinary

The wise look inside upon the light of their own stillness and naturally radiate this in each moment – blending naturally with all that IS.

“Be quiet.
Look inside.
Soften your sharp edges.
Simplify your thoughts.
Follow your own light.
Be ordinary.
The you will see for yourself that you are a part of the whole.”
Lao Tzu

Simply True

Ask yourself – “How can I simply be true to my own nature?”  When one is true to one’s own nature, they are selfless and at peace with the way things are.

“Be simple and true to your own nature.
Be selfless and at peace with the way things are.”
Lao Tzu
